How to ice a wedding cake? Ideas?
I have 6 months to learn to make a spectacular wedding cake. I already in practice and what occurred to me that it looks pretty good. Which often are made wedding cakes? I do not want fondant though I know it is a common problem. I use royal icing, but I will not be completely hard. Do I ice all butter cream cake, then make real decorations? Or the ice at all in the first set with butter then a layer of Royal above? Will it work? What is it? Thank you!

I clear vanilla cream cheese frosting. The cake was still a soft ivory color, but it was very nice. I used a shell border simple to decorate the cake. At the top I put a bunch of fresh flowers. Be sure to use organic or pesticide-free flowers and use of a barrier between the cake and flowers. Wilton sells. Also, be sure to wear flowers or NONTOXIC can poison your guests. The flowers were so pretty. Another option is to make the flowers pellet. I made about 100 roses to birthday cake ivory stick gum to my parents. It looked good on both levels birthday cake.
